My bestie and I had a dinner date last weekend, we decided to go to Outback Steakhouse. So, I get on dwlz.com to see what a healthy choice would be. Now, I'm one of those people that tend to get the same thing when I go to a restaurant. If I find something that I really enjoy, every time I go there, I get it. My meal of choice at Outback, is the Alice Springs Chicken. Grilled chicken, honey mustard, mushrooms, bacon, cheese, it can't be too bad right??? WRONG. I looked up the Points Pl.us value of this entree, it is 31. For those that have no idea what this means, on We.ight Wat.chers, I get 35 points each day. 31 points, for some chicken (that's not including a side), is just unreal. So, I go back to dwlz.com and browse through to see what my other options are. I am shocked at the values of the things I thought were healthy. I had settled on the Tilapia with some type of crab toppings, can't remember the name. So, we head out around 7:45 pm (supposed to be 7, but that's another story). We get there, there is an hour wait. I expected a wait, so whatever, we sit down, chat, play with our phones, side eye people with fur/velvet coats on, and wait. As we are waiting, someone comes around with a sample of pork tenderloin. I can't recall ever having it, so I give it a try. It is flavorful, moist, and delicious. I recall it having a low points plus value as well, so I look it up on phone, and change my mind. Pork Tenderloin it will be.
Doesn't it look delicious???? It was, and for 10 points, it was even better. 10 points for the meat!! I was happy with my choice. And, with just a little investigation, I was able to make a much healthier choice!!! It's the little things.

Random Thoughts...
- I brought the Wash and Go back...My first few years natural, I ONLY wore wash and go's and buns. I had gotten away from it, I will be wearing them much more often!!
- I'm hosting a book club meeting at my house this month, I'm looking forward to entertaining, it has been too long!!
- I can see changes in my body since I've been going to the gym regularly and eating healthier...
- The scale will not cooperate though...
- I'm trying to see the bigger picture though...
- When I'm drinking the recommended amount of water (half my body weight) a day, I use the bathroom almost every 30 minutes. I think I may need to go to the doctor about that...
- Having a roommate is very different than living with your significant other...
- My niece is going to be a great basketball player...
- Pinterest is great...I have made at least 1 new recipe a week since joining...
- I worry that the older I get, the harder it will be for me to have children...
- I want to be married before having kids though...
- I should trim my ends soon, just to stay on top of it...
- Going an entire year without trimming is not a good idea...for me...

Growing Pains...
Well, my honey and I are experiencing some growing pains. It's not new anymore, we are getting to truly know each other. Where we aren't constantly excited about our potential. We are truly being ourselves around one another. I know all relationships have this time. The time where you truly find out if this relationship will stand the test of time. We both knew it would come, we both knew this would be the true test. In ALL my years of dating, I have never been more certain that we would make it through this time. That we would continue to talk, work through our misunderstandings, and miscommunications. That we can allow each other to be, without taking every little thing personally. So while things aren't all lovey dovey, I am happy, and peaceful, that we can argue about something simple, get to the root of the issue, and still love and respect each other!

Oh Boy...
I worked out 4 days this week. I stayed within my points (utilizing some of my extra points). I tracked...all to weigh in, and only loose .4 pounds. Which puts me at 8 pounds total. As disappointed as I am, I won't let it get me down.
I'm lifting weights, and muscle weighs more than fat right??? I'm getting good workouts in (I can't even keep my hair looking decent I'm sweating so much :-)).
As I look back on the week, I can't deny that I had my fair share of a few too many snacks, sweets, and just overall bad things. All I can do, is continue doing better. I will do better this week than last week. I'm not gaining, which is great!! The scale is going in the right direction, even if it is at a snails pace.

Wakey Wakey
I eat breakfast, everyday!!! I have a hard time thinking of healthy options to bring to work that don't get old, but one day, in my google reader, I found the following recipe. I took the recipe and made a few changes, and what I came up with is delicious!!!
You will need: Turkey Smoked Sausage (half of one package), small onion, small tomato, spinach (1 cup), 1/2 bell pepper (any color), 8 eggs, shredded cheese.
Instructions: Dice onion, bell pepper, and spinach. Saute in skillet for about 5 minutes. Dice remaining ingredients, place in muffin pan. Mix eggs (as though you are going to scramble them), and pour over other ingredients in the pan. Place small amount of cheese on top of each muffin. Bake for 20 - 25 minutes (until egg is cooked). I eat 1 - 2 a day for breakfast. If you are on WW (like me) 2 of these are 7PP!!

Ashy to Classy???
My bun, from yesterday. I was trying not to add any products to my hair, I looked a mess.
I simply combed my hair, and put 6 flexi-rods in my hair, and this was the result!!! Winning!!

The Best Laid Plan...
I packed my breakfast, egg muffins (recipe coming soon). I ate it, had my 32 ounces of water on deck. Then, the email came, my coworker brought in donuts. I'll just have one right, that's what WW is all about, eating good most of the time! Then, I go to a meeting, and there are more donuts. Seriously?????? I SHOULD have been able to ignore those donuts, to pretend they didn't exist, to not want one. But no, not me, I had to have another one. Then, lunch time comes, and my co-workers want to go to a pizza place for lunch. I cannot with myself, and this day.

Ugh...
So, I took my time, put the curl formers in, slept with them, and the style only lasted for one day, not even 24 hours. When I workout, I sweat, a lot. I sweat a lot in my head. I'm disappointed that the style didn't last, because I really liked it, but that's the breaks. I'm not going to stop working out, so I need to find a style that will either last, or that is so quick, that I won't mind if it's short lived! I'm thinking a pretty bun will be all that my hair can sustain for an active lifestyle! I am going to try a roller set on dry hair either tonight or tomorrow night. I will do a roller set on wet hair after I wash this weekend, and see if that will last any longer. If not, I will resort to twisting and bunning!
Any active curlies that sweat a lot with any ideas????

New Regimen?
My hair has been feeling dry lately. I would like to attribute that dryness to the cold, but it really hasn't been that cold. I am horrible at coming up with and following a regimen. I do ok for a while, and then I go back to my lazy ways. So, this past weekend, I tried something structured, that I'm going to try for a month or two and see if it works for me!
When I was again, either this weekend or next weekend, I will follow the same steps to see how my hair is doing. If it ends up being a fluke, I'll have to tweak it!!
- Put Olive Oil Cholesterol on dry hair, leave in for a few hours (or overnight).
- Wash with whatever shampoo I have (maybe I'll try to find a shampoo to make a staple)
- Saturate hair with oil mix(Vitamin E, Grapeseed, Castor, Coconut, and Castor), sit under dryer, or leave in for a few hours (or all day).
- Wash oil out of hair, and style using the following products:
- Lucio Lucio
- Olive Oil Wrap Foam
- Coconut Oil to seal ends
When I was again, either this weekend or next weekend, I will follow the same steps to see how my hair is doing. If it ends up being a fluke, I'll have to tweak it!!

New Year, New...
Eh, I don't make New Year's Resolutions anymore. Because seriously, I never stick to them. I do for may a couple of months, then I'm back to my old habits. So I figure, why put all that time and energy into noting things I want to improve on just because it's the beginning of the year? I guess it is a good time to reflect on the improvements I've already started to make, and commit to continuing these improvements into the next year!
I will continue to actively participate in weight watchers.
I will continue to pay down debt with the hopes of being out of credit card debt this time next year!!
I will continue getting to know my hair!!
I will continue to pamper myself (responsibly)!!
One of my goals, that I have not actively started, is to run a 5k. Running has been a challenge for me, that I really want to overcome. There is a 4 mile run/walk that is really popular in the city, I'm going to register for that!!
I guess those could be considered resolutions...oh well!
