Oh Boy...

I worked out 4 days this week.  I stayed within my points (utilizing some of my extra points).  I tracked...all to weigh in, and only loose .4 pounds.  Which puts me at 8 pounds total.  As disappointed as I am, I won't let it get me down.

I'm lifting weights, and muscle weighs more than fat right???  I'm getting good workouts in (I can't even keep my hair looking decent I'm sweating so much :-)).

As I look back on the week, I can't deny that I had my fair share of a few too many snacks, sweets, and just overall bad things.  All I can do, is continue doing better.  I will do better this week than last week.  I'm not gaining, which is great!!  The scale is going in the right direction, even if it is at a snails pace.

Goodbye...

I have to say goodbye to my scale.  I feel myself being discouraged already, when the number on the scale doesn't seem to match the effort I feel I'm giving in the gym.  I get down, and thoughts like "why work this hard for nothing" enter my head, even though I know better.  So, I'm hiding the scale from myself, for a while.  I know what my starting weight was, and I will not get on the scale again until April 3rd at the earliest.  I want to focus more on making sure I get a good workout, I'm consistent with going to the gym, and that I'm making healthier choices when I eat.  I still want to lose 2 pounds a week, but I am not going to make the number on the scale my main focus.  Working out 5 days a week will be my focus.

Week 4 Goals

1. Stay under 1600 calories each day. FAIL

2. Protein and hot oil treatment hair. FAIL - Let me explain, about a month ago, I purchased 2 packets of protein treatment, and when I went to put it in my hair, to my surprise, I could not find them anywhere, I tore my linen closet up looking for the packets. So, I did a regular deep condition and hot oil treatment. So, I will do a protein treatment this coming weekend :-(.

3. Take lunch two days this week. - FAIL

4. No credit cards!!! - PASS

Well, last week I said these goals were simple, so simple that I failed most of them. I did not plan, so, I did not have anything to bring for lunch. I did not plan, so I did not stay under 1600 calories a day. To be honest, I'm not really disappointed, I'm learning WHY I've gotten to this weight, and why I've gotten in debt. And I'm taking steps to correct this, so I'm making progress! In the past, I fail a goal, I feel like I've let myself down yet again, and I fall back into the same habits that got me where I didn't want to be. Not this time, I will pick myself up and keep on trucking. I didn't get in debt overnight, nor did I gain weight overnight. I went to the grocery store, I planned my meals, and I cooked. So, this weeks goals should be a piece of cake to attain!!

1. Bring lunch 3 times this week. I brought my lunch today, and with the food that is already cooked in my refrigerator, I should bring my lunch at least 2 more times (if not everyday) this week.

2. Exercise 4 times. My back no longer hurts, so, I am going to get cardio in at least 4 times this week. I think I am going to wait on doing sit-ups again for a while. I will also complete week 2 of 100 push-up challenge!

3. Protein treatment on hair. I will make my way to Sally and purchase more protein treatment packs since I can't seem to place the ones I bought earlier this month.

4. No credit cards!!!!

One awesome thing that I accomplished last month, I paid off a credit card. I only owed $160, but, instead of sending them a smaller payment, I just sent the full amount. A small step in the right direction, and I'm proud of myself for making it. Cause what I really wanted to do was buy some boots, and underclothes, and clothes, there were all types of sales at the mall this weekend. But I didn't do it, I was good!!

ODC...

Operation De-Chunk - That's what I'm about these days. I've been doing well, going to the gym and what-not. I actually finished this program. Which I have tried to many times in the past, but was unsuccessful to say the least. I am proud of the progress that I've made. But I really haven't lost much weight. And I've been going strong for about 9 - 10 weeks. I can tell a difference in my clothes, but I want to see pounds. I want to go down sizes in pants. I know I need to be patient. I am going to have to change my eating habits. I am trying slowly. But sometimes I feel like I'm getting discouraged because the pounds aren't coming off. I have to keep reminding myself that I didn't put on the weight overnight, so I can't expect to lose it overnight. I need to just keep going at it. I've been working hard, and I've never done this well with going to the gym, but I have to stay strong. I don't want to called chunky, 'thick', big, or whatever term people come up with for people my size. I'll settle for average as I will never be a skinny girl.

My motivation is both for getting healthy, and just wanting to look good. My confidence has been lacking lately and that is not my personality at all. Not that I'm vain, but I've always been confident.

Going to hip-hop aerobics today!! It's a great workout!!

Update...

Yesterday was a good day. I had my 8 cups of water, I went and played volleyball, and I walked 11268 steps. I could have done a better job at what I chose to eat, but, I didn't have pork, I did indulge in a couple of snacks.

Update...

I did alright yesterday. I did drink 8 cups of water. I worked out. I was on the tread mill for about 40 minutes walking, got in about 2.5 miles, not too bad. I made nachos with left over meat from my tacos (with turkey burger), and they were the bomb, so I'm going to have them again today. Next time I'm going to incorporate some jogging in with the walking.

Over-Weight

So, when most people look at me, they just think I'm a little over weight. But I have news for every, according to any Body-Mass Index calculator I can find, I am obese. According to these calculators, I need to be about 50 pounds lighter to be in the zone of what's considered a healthy weight. Now, I haven't been 50 lbs lighter than I am right now, since high school. And I don't even mean senior year in high school, I mean, sophomore year. I mean, I do need to lose weight, but at the same time, if I weighed 50lbs less than I do right, I would look downright skinny, not a good look for me! So, here's to wanting to lose weight and not be skinny!
