Week 12 Goals

Recap of last week:

1. Workout 5 times. - Pass!!!  My part time job isn't bad at all.  I'm not there as late as I thought I would be, so I have time to workout at night.  I even worked out in the morning a couple of times last week!!

2. Get at least 7 hours of sleep a night.  - FAIL - There were probably a few days of 7 hours or more, but I'm pretty sure they were on the weekend.

3.Take lunch two times a week. - FAIL - I did not take my lunch one day :-(. 

Goals for this week:


I waited entirely too late in the week to do this post.  So, I'm not going to post any goals for two reasons.  1, if I put a goal that I've pretty much already attained, I feel like it's cheating.  2, if I haven't attained it, I probably won't with it being Thursday.

I know I will get my 5 workouts in, I've worked out twice this week, and I plan on working out tonight, tomorrow, and Saturday (maybe Sunday, but we'll see). 


I am on week 4 of Couch to 5k, this week is tough.  Well, tough for me, the 5 minute runs are killing me, but I'm fighting through.  I've found a couple of 5k's that I can sign up for, but I'm leaning towards one on June 18th. It's about 13 weeks away, plenty of time to get a respectable 5k time, for me.  There are about 5 more weeks to complete couch to 5k, so that gives me some time to work on increasing my run time, work on my breathing, and whatever else I may need to do (I need to do some research maybe).  This will be my first ever race, so I'm looking to enjoy it!!  If anyone has any tips, I'm open!!!!

I had a very irresponsible weekend, I left my camera in my best friends car, I lost my ID, and a credit card (one that is paid off :-)).  I've ordered a new ID, that should be here within the next week, and reported my card lost.  Luckily I realized on Sunday before anyone could find and use my credit card.  I need to get it together.

Weekend Recap

On Friday, I met my bestie and her sister out to do some knitting!! We ended up getting there later than expected and really only to go knit for about an hour, not enough time. We will have to do it again, real soon!

Saturday, I house hunting with Poetry. I guess technically it's not house hunting, he's not buying a house, just looking for one to rent. So I did that, then did some Christmas shopping. Which for some reason, put me in a bad mood. I don't know if it was because the stores were crowded, or because I was spending money that I really shouldn't spend, or because I was tired. Either way, I got back home around 5 pm, and slept until 3:30 am.

Shopped pretty much all day on Sunday as well, I am way behind on my Christmas shopping.

I am mostly done though, now I have to wrap the gifts.

For some reason this year, I'm not as excited about Christmas this year as I have been in the past. Maybe because I'm really focused on the changes that I need to make, and Christmas kind of puts a damper on starting those goals. It's hard to pay bills off and buy Christmas gifts. It's hard to start eating healthy with so much temptation around at every turn.

Either way, I am focused, and ready, to make some changes!!

The Weekend...

Roy Wood Jr was here on Friday, so my sister, my friend and I went and checked him out. The tickets were only $12.50. It was a really nice show. He was hilarious, and even the guy on stage before him was funny.

I played in volleyball tournament on Saturday, and man, it was so exhausting. We played 8 games to 21 for seeding, then another 2 games to 21 for the actual tournament play. All in the hot sun. Then I had to play on Sunday for our regular league. I definitely needed the workout though.

On another note, I finished the baby blanket that I was making for my cousin, now I need to make a couple of hats and booties!

A Wonderful Weekend...

On Friday, I stayed at FOTM's house, so that I could be his alarm clock for a visit to the barbershop on Saturday morning. He stays up late, and normally, I stay up late with him, well, not this weekend, I feel asleep pretty much as soon as I got there. On Saturday, after his hair cut, we went to my house, I finished packing up my things, we went to his parents house (first visit to see his parents, I already knew them, so I wouldn't call it meeting them), then we hit the road. Drove down to Indy, Checked-In to the Hampton Inn, Ate at St. Elmo's, got dressed, went to the concert, went over his friends house, then went back to the room and went to bed.

We had a great time at the concert. J. Holiday was cool, didn't really know too many of his songs. Keyshia Cole was awesome, even though she wasn't on the stage very long. I would like to see her give her own show. R. Kelly really put on a show. I bet he sang at least one song from each of his albums. His show went on a little long for me. By the time he was finished, I was sleepy. I was a little upset, because I had to check my camera in, so I didn't get to take any pictures.

We got back around 3:30 on Sunday, I went home and took a nice nap. I slept from about 5:30 - 7:30. The weekends are so short. Now I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to get my Christmas shopping done. Somehow, someway, it will get done!

The Weekend...

Is just too short. I had a good time though. Had some drinks, kicked it with First of the Month, kicked it with knitliscious (since you don't like LD), got some rest. What more can you ask for.

The Weekend...

So, I went on a date with 'First of the Month' on Saturday. And I realized how much I short change myself sometimes. We made the plans, and then he called me and said "So are you coming to get me, my car is not a good date car." So immediately I'm like, ok, here we go. This is going to be the worst date ever. The entire time that I'm on my way to his house, I have an attitude, that is likely to mess up the entire date. So we go bowling. We bowled 5 games and had a couple of drinks. Then we went to Outback, and we just talked. About a lot of different things. Reminiscing about the past. Talking about past relationships. It was very cool. Then, I chilled at his house for a little while. And this chilling was nothing like I've ever done with a guy that I was interested in. I mean, we cuddled a little bit. But he wasn't trying to feel all on me. I never felt uncomfortable. We never even kissed. It was a great time, and I'm looking forward to going out with him again. I can't say that I didn't want to kiss him. He was looking good, fresh hair cut, nicely put together outfit, smelling good. But I feel good that I can take it slow with him without feeling pressured. I know that when we take steps, it will be because I want to, not because he is making it known that he wants it.

Now, I've short-changed myself in the past. Thinking, that just going to a movie is a date. Because really, it's not. And not because of a money thing. But because at a movie, you can't talk to someone, or see if there's any chemistry. You just sit there, and watch the movie. So the only time you have to talk is in the car on the way to and from the movie. So I've decided, that a movie is no longer an acceptable first date. Now a second or third date, sounds good. But I can't get to know anything about you in a movie.

The Weekend...

I went shopping, but took the coat that I bought back. I kept two pairs of jeans though.

I was sick on Saturday night, but took some medicine and was better on Sunday.

I got a ceiling fan for my bedroom as a gift!

I finished knitting a hat, it's pretty sweet.

The painted room...

So, I painted my bathroom this weekend. It turned out decent, I made a couple of boo-boos, so I need to get some touch-up paint. I like it for the most part though. I need to purchases a picture to put on the wall, and some decorative towels, after I do that, I'll move on to another room, probably my bedroom. I'm excited about painting the rest of my house!! I want to have a nice, cozy, decorated house, not something that just looks thrown together.

I also went to the movies to see Rush Hour 3 this weekend. That movie was hilarious. I laughed so hard that I cried a couple of times.

I told my mom about J^2, she was more optimistic about the relationship than I find myself being sometimes, which is good. She wants to meet him when he comes. I think that's just her being nosey, but hey, I'm down.

Weekend...

On Friday night, I didn't do too much, I went to Wal-Mart, that was about the highlight of that evening.

On Saturday, I basically spent all day preparing for my first party/set/get-together, whatever the proper term is. And it was supposed to begin at 7, but of course, people didn't really start getting there until around 8. Which was fine with me, because I wasn't ready anyway. I had a great time, and from my observations, everyone else did too. We played games, talked trash, and had some drinks. We had more drinks than we did anything else, but it was good. The view of my place at about 5 a.m. was a sight to see. There were people sleep on the floor, in my closet, and all of the beds had at least 2 people in them. I knew everyone, so it was all good.

On Sunday, I couldn't get up and moving until around 5, and I went by my mom's house. My cousin (from Chicago) and I then went to Biaggi's and had some dessert, their bread pudding is amazing. Then we went back to my place. Later on that night, Heather, Quisha, and I went to a club. While we were there, I saw some guys that lived in the same neighborhood as I when we were growing up. So I basically talked to them all night. One of the guys told me that he used to like me but I was too young. Now he's only 4 years older than me, but when he's in high school and I'm in middle school, it's a little different than when you are grown. So anywho, he said that he is going to start calling me, but we'll see.

Yesterday I cleaned up my place, and ironed some clothes, but that is about it. I just lounged around for the most part. I started watching season 3 of 24. My roommate from college let me borrow is collections of the show. It's pretty good, and I don't have to wait a week just to see what is going to happen next.

All in all, it was a good weekend. Had some good company, got a possible new love interest, got some rest, I can't complain at all!!

Weekend...

On Friday, CD and I went to a golf party and then to the Legion. I would say the average age of the men at this party was about 45. That said, I did have a good time, but nothing too exciting went on. I didn't get home until 3 and I had to be at practice at 10. Needless to say, I was very tired on Saturday. After practice, I went out to eat, and to the movies. I went to see The Bourne Ultimatum, very good movie. I basically fell asleep as soon as I got home from the movie, 10 o'clock.

On Sunday I pulled weeds, a lot of weeds, and then took my niece shopping. She has clueless parents, and I don't like for the kids to go without because their parents are clueless. So my mother and I bought her some clothes. She lives in a 2 bedroom apartment with 4 other kids, and two adults. My brother claims that he is trying to get custody, but I don't believe it. So, I need to do what I can for her.

Last night, I got a call from a guy in Texas that I've talked to off and on for about 2 years. He and I have amazing chemistry, but we are 16 hours away from one another. I am very impatient, so we tend to get into it sometimes. He's nothing like any guy I would ever call my type, but I like him more than I can even describe. I haven't seen him in 2 years, but just hearing his voice does something to me. He says he's coming here in about 3 weeks, but I don't want to get excited about it. That, and I haven't talked to him in a couple of months, so we'll see.

Random...

I went and saw The Prestige last night and it was pretty good. It had some twists and turns in it that kinda caught me by surprise. I picked the movie for three reasons, 1. It was #1 at the box office this week, 2. It was the best option for the time period that I wanted to go, and 3. I haven't seen any previews for any movies in a while. It was the best movie I've seen at the movies in a long time. That was the high-light of my weekend. I went to Texas Roadhouse with the family for my sisters birthday, and worked, and slept. Good times!!

I finally finished my first knitting project last week. It is a gray scarf. Now I am working on a blanket, which I'm sure will take me a year or more to finish. But we shall see. I'm going to attempt to be more dedicated to the project. But given that I won't be having too much free time, I'm not going to make any promises.

I am kinda stressed at work, but apparently I shouldn't be, because my task lead leaves early or takes a day off about once a week. If he's not concerned, I guess I shouldn't be either.

My sister got a 30" tv yesterday, and I am super jealous. I was going to buy me a TV, then I said I was going to pay off some bills first, now I want a TV again. I'm going to pay off bills though. I don't think I'm going to get a plasma though, I think I'm going to go with a Sony DLP, although I'm not sure which size.
