Dani D's Favorite Things
As everyone in the world I'm sure knows, Oprah has a show (or multiple shows) about her favorite things each year. I don't even watch Oprah and I know that. So, I decided to share with you a list of some of my favorite things.
Mountain Dew:

I try not to drink too much of it, and I don't buy it at home, but if I'm in the need for caffeine at work, or I go to the vending machine for a pop, or I stop at the gas station on a road trip, Mountain Dew is my choice!!!
Q'Doba BBQ Burrito:

There's a Q'Doba less than a mile from my house, and to say I've had to STOP myself from eating there multiple times in one week, is an understatement. I think I could eat there everyday!!
J. Cole:

A friend of mine had been telling me about him, and I guess I was thinking of all the other bs rappers that have been making music lately. Well, he let me borrow his copy of J. Cole's mixed tape. When I tell you that I've been listening to it non-stop for a month, I'm not exaggerating. I listen to it in my car, when I'm at home cooking, cleaning, getting dressed. Pretty much anytime I listen to music, It's been Mr. Cole.
Asics Running Shoes:

Now I'm not a runner by any stretch of the imagination. However, I have tried running, and when it's warm outside, I walk a couple times a week. Asics are my favorite shoes to do any type of exercise in. I play volleyball in them, I jog/walk in them, I wear them when I'm traveling. There aren't the cute/fashionable tennis shoes that I typically go for, but I absolutely love them.
MacBook Pro:

I took the plunge and purchased a MacBook when my Toshiba (that was only 1.5 years old) stopped working. I had been eying MacBooks for a while, but never convinced myself to spend the money. After all, I had a laptop. So, when my Toshiba stopped working, I went without for a few weeks. I pondered over and over, do I just buy another cheap laptop, or do I take the plunge and get something of better quality. If I'm going to spend the money, I might as well get what I want. So, I did it, and I do not regret it all. I love my MacBook.
Signature Needle Arts Knitting Needles:

These are my favorite, straight knitting needles! I only have 1 pair of them, cause they are a tad pricey, but I absolutely love them. The are smooth, light, and the tip is pointy, so that I can get in my tight stitches without the yarn pulling apart. They are ALWAYS in use!!
Olive Garden Chicken Scampi:

I ate at the Olive Garden for the first time in college. My family isn't big on italian food, so we never ate there growing up. Well, once I ate there, I was in love. Whenever I would go, I would get the exact same thing, Chicken Parmigiana, with Fettuccine Alfredo instead of spaghetti! No exaggeration, for 5 years straight, I would ALWAYS order this when I ate there. Well, I finally convinced my family to go there, and mother had a co-worker who brought Chicken Scampi to work for lunch one day, so she ordered it. I, of course, had to taste it, I was in LOVE. The chicken is always tender, the veggies are delicious, and the sauce is flavor-ful but light. My only complaint, is that when you get it for takeout, it's not the same. I think it's because the steam makes the noodles too tender.
Netflix:

I had netflix about 3 years ago, and eventually stopped watching the movies in a timely fashion, so I canceled my account. Well, I only have basic cable, and as most know, there's rarely anything worth watching on. So, I decided to do a free trial with netflix again, and I am glad I did. They have a huge database of movies that you watch instantly, on your PC, or internet enabled gaming systems. So, I watch many hours of netflix on the Wii. I still get one DVD at a time, which is good for new movies, or movies that aren't available for streaming.
Well, this is a small list of some of my favorite things...right now anyway!

Gadgets and Gizmos
I have a thing for electronics. TV's, laptops, cameras, mp3 players, cell phones, I don't know what it is. I enjoy playing with them, figuring out the ins and outs, all that good stuff. The thing is, after the initial excitement, I get bored with them. I mean, I use them, but I rarely use all of the advanced features. I use the basics, and that's it.
I feel like I've made a turn around though. I few months ago, my iPod broke. Well, I broke my iPod. My initial thought was, oh no, I have to go and get another one, NOW!!! Well, I thought about it, and decided to try to go without, just to see. The more I thought, I realized, I really didn't have the money to just up and spend $200 on an iPod. It's like I just spend money without thinking through the repercussions.
I haven't read a book in I don't know how long. I've checked books out from the library. At any given time, I have at least 2 books checked out from the library. I always intend to read them, yet they sit on my nightstand until I've renewed them the maximum number of times, I may even get a late fee, and then I return them. Yet, I've considered getting a Kindle. My cousin had one, I played with it, and decided I should have one. Again, I thought about it, I rarely ever read books. And for the frequency in which I read, why isn't the library good enough?
What's with me, and my desire/need to have all this 'stuff'. That's all it is, is stuff. It doesn't make me happy, in fact, it indirectly stresses me out. I'm buying things I can't afford, staying in debt, and stressing about my finances. Boy do I need to get it together...

Get It Together
One shot to your hear without breaking your skin, no one has the power to hurt you like you kin...kept it inside didn't tell no one else, didn't even want to admit it to yourself...and now your chest burns and your back aches...from 15 years, of holding the pain...and now you only have yourself to blame...if you continue to live this way...
Get it together is my theme for 2011 and beyond, yes, and beyond, hehehe. I have been lax, lax with my finances, with my health, with my job. I need to start focusing on being more responsible. I'm embarrassed with the amount of credit card debt that I have. I have no excuse to not be getting healthy. And my job, my income, my bread and butter, I haven't tried to better myself in I don't know how long. And I complain about the training that they don't provide, but let's be honest, I should want to better myself, for me, not for that company. I don't plan on working there for the rest of my life, and I should not behave as though they owe me something. Should they train us, I think so, should I not better myself, because they are not, absolutely not. I've gotten lazy, and much to lax. I'm just coasting, and that isn't getting me anywhere.
I don't typically do New Year's resolutions, however, I will start making goals for myself, and holding myself accountable for achieving them. They will start small, and increase with time.
So, with that, my first goal, is to have some goals set by 12/31/2011 for the entire year. Reasonable, attainable goals.

Well Well Well....
It's been a long time, I shouldn't a left you, without a dope beat to step to...
Totally copying off of my bff who quotes songs at the top of ALL of her blog posts!!! If you are into makeup, knitting, or anything fabulous, check her out @ http://lovinallthingsfab.blogspot.com/.
So, what have I been up to this year, yeah, no blogs of substance this entire year. I broke up with a guy, dated a guy that looks like a lion, he quit me for his White ex-girlfriend, dated a guy that lived at home with his parents and didn't have a car (yeah, I needed to be slapped), went to DC, Jamaica, Cleveland basketball game (Cavs vs. Heat), and a host of other things I'm sure I'm forgetting.
I've been thinking about blogging for a while, couldn't decide if I wanted to blog on wordpress, or blogger, and since I already have this blog, blogger it is, lol. And it's so much easier to leave comments without having to put in a host of other information.
So, I need to hold myself more accountable, in more than one area in my life, I like to have a good time, I make bad decisions, and hopefully learn from them, let's see if I can get this blogging thing going again. One thing I will promise, it will probably be just as random as my life is at times!!!

Hmmmm
Thinking about blogging again. Possibly, maybe, I don't know. I feel so random. Sometimes I want to blog each day, sometimes, I don't even think about blogging.
