I am making a scarf, a knitted scarf, yes, I knit! Before this hat, it had been so long since I knit, I think people forgot that I actually did it :-). Anywho, La and I are making a cabled scarf! I made this scarf a while ago for a coworker, and I always wanted to make one for myself, and never got around to it. I started it last Friday night, and this is my progress as of last night!
I think I'm making good progress so far. Actually, for me, I'm making excellent progress!
I already have a few more projects picked out that I want to make. I hope my knitting mojo is here to stay!
PS - The name, well, I feel like it looks like waves. When people wave, they are speaking to you, or me in this instance. Corny, I know!

Lacy Beret
I actually finished a knitting project recently, and it only took me 4 months!! I guess that isn't horrible, but it's far from great. Either way, I can't wait to wear the gem once it gets cold. I ran out of yarn when I was almost finished, and had to order more, it was a different dye lot, and it's obvious. Oh well, It doesn't look bad enough for me not to wear it.

Project Monogamy
I've been working on one knitting project at a time. I feel like I get more done this way, however, I have not been knitting a lot lately. I don't know what my deal is, but I've just been slacking on the knitting front. I will keep project monogamy going though. I will never finish anything if I have multiple projects going at the rate I'm knitting.
The scarf above, was started on October 24th. I should have finished it long ago, however, I am still trekking along. I would like to finish it before the end of the year, but I don't know, we shall see.

Pay It Forward

"It’s the Pay It Forward Exchange. It’s based of the concept of the movie “Pay it Forward” where acts or deeds of kindness are done without expecting something in return, just passing it on, with hope that the recipients of the acts of kindness are passed on. So here’s how it works. I will make and send a handmade gift to the first 3 people who leave a comment to this post on my blog requesting to join this PIF exchange. I do not know what that gift will be yet, and it won’t be sent this month, probably not next month, but it will be sent (within 6 months) and that’s a promise! What YOU have to do in return, then, is pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog.
I will now Pay It Forward to you THREE, I wonder who you will be?! Please, be a PIF! You will enjoy it just as much as we do!"
And, remember...you have 6 months to get your gifts done! Come on, you know you would love to be one of my angels. Then, one day, but you don't know when....you will get a gift that I have made especially for YOU!
Please remember, you don't have to knit or crochet to participate, anyone who can make a nice handmade gift is welcome to join :)
I am so looking forward to starting. Can't wait to see who joins me.

Swapping...
Well, since I joined Ravelry (an online knitting community), I have been addicted to all things knitting. Well, there are a ton of swaps on Ravelry. What is a swap you ask, you get a partner, they list their likes and dislikes, and you put together a package for them, and someone does the same for you. All swaps are different, some have themes, budgets, projects and on and on. So, La and I decided to do a swap of our own. So we could be sure that we would get an awesome package. Well, I don't know if that was a good idea. She is my bff, so a budget is a joke. And, I know she will get me an amazing package, and I want to make sure that I do the same for her, so I'm splurging to say the least. Not ridiculous, but I want it to be super special. I am done buying her stuff (I've said that a couple of times already, but I haven't been successful yet), now I'm concentrating on her handmade items!! Will I have enough time to make her all that I want to make her? Only time will tell. We are exchanging on May 31st, and we are going to see Sex and the City, won't it be perfect???? I can't wait!

Doily Cloth
This is my first ever one day project. And one day on a work day too. I tried to start it while on my lunch at work, but I messed up an unknown number of times. But I never say quit!! When I got home, I started it again, thought I knew the first 6 rows by heart, to realize I had done it wrong. So I took it down again. After dinner, I started on it again, at about 6:30. And by 9 p.m., with a few small interruptions, I was binding off. My hands are sore, probably from all of the YO, K2TOG that created the lace. But all in all, it was a quick and fun knit. I'm going to make at least one more, if not 2.

My First Bootie
My first Baby Bootie, I love it. I can't wait to make some for my cousin who is having a baby in October. She finds out next month what she is having. I hope she's ready for all the cute little knitting things I have planned for her. It took me couple of tries to get the concept down, and I didn't follow the pattern exactly, but I love the result. I think this was my 3rd attempt, the 1st successful one, but it was worth the mistakes. Now I can make cute little knitted gifts for baby showers.

Knitting Woes...
So, I am tired of making hats. I have made like 8 hats since November, and in my quest to venture out, I tried to make baby booties. So, I attempted a free pattern I found online, couldn't figure out all of the details, then I tried a pattern in this like pamphlet that was a gift, finished it, it looks like a bootie, but still has some errors in it. So, I guess I'm going to try again, I've read through another pattern, seems simple enough, but I'm certain that once I actually get to working on it, I'll run into a problem. Wish me luck...

Knitting...
So, I learned how to knit a while ago. And sometimes I'm really into it, and sometimes I just can't find the time. Well, I'm feeling really into it right now, I mean to the point that I can't wait to get home so I can knit. I went home after work yesterday, and started a hat, and knitted 18 rows, that's pretty outstanding for me. To knit that many rows in one day, and on a day that I had to work too. So, I'm hoping I can keep my enthusiasm going and make a couple of Christmas gifts. Nothing too detailed, but a couple of hats would be good. I'm hoping to have the one that I started yesterday done before the weekend is over. And possibly have gotten a good start on another one. The one I'm making right now is for FOTM. I will start one for my mom next, and then my step-dad. And if I can get real ambitious, I'll make one for my brother. But that will be a last resort. Then after Christmas, I can make myself some things. The only item that I've actually kept for myself is a green hat. I want to make myself a couple of scarves and hats. I'll probably make Michael a hat too, since he's been asking and I've been ignoring his requests.
